Psychologists are not medical doctors. In fact, a psychologist can have PhD in philosophy and still be recognized as a psychologist. However, this doesn’t mean that anyone can go into this field without any training or qualifications. In order to become a psychologist, the practitioner needs to have doctoral degree in an area of psychology, which is the study of the human behavior.
